When you are moving to a new area, or simply buying or selling property in today\\\'s real estate market, it\\\'s important to know your REALTOR and have confidence that your real estate professional is representing your needs. Therefore I thought it might be good for you to know a little bit aboutthe broker\\\'sbackground.


The broker is a native of Jasper, Texas and has been active in real estate in the Jasper and East Texas area since 1966.

He was on staff as an appraiser and building inspector with a local savings and loan from 1967 until 1976 at which time he resigned his position as vice president to open an appraisal office.

The broker has completed numerous seminars, courses and examinations in route to attaining the MAI designation of the Appraisal Institute. He is not a state certified appraiser.

In 1979, he expanded his real estate appraisal practice to include a general service real estate business (appraisals, brokerage and property management).

His appraisal work over the years included the appraisal of several thousand residential properties plus numerous income-producing properties, and other specialized appraisals including Right Of Way Acquisitions for the Texas Department of Transportation and Utility Easement Appraisals for the cities of Huntsville and Jasper and for Semetco-Waxman, Consultants to The Deep East Texas Council of Governments.

Wayne Stephenson has testified as an expert appraisal witness in District Court hearings in Sabine, San Augustine, and Tyler Counties.

He did extensive work for the F.D.I.C. and the R.T.C. during 1991 and 1992.

Since 1993 he has focused his attention to the brokerage side of his business, having participated in the brokerage of more than one thousand properties of varied types and physical/economic characteristics.

The broker has served as president of the Sabine Area (Beaumont-Port Arthur) Chapter of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers (now The Appraisal Institute), president of the Jasper Area Board of Realtors, president of the Jasper Lions Club and president of the Jasper Chamber of Commerce. In 1971 he was the recipient of Temple Inlands Outstanding Young Man Of The Year award for Jasper, Texas.
